For owners

How the landlord side works

Signing up does not make you a landlord. First you get a normal MyRentKenya account — save homes, talk to owners, browse the map. The landlord dashboard is a second tool. Open it only when you have property to manage.

The path

Four steps, in order

Nothing is created until you say so at the bottom of this page.

1

Add what you own

Properties (the building or plot) and units (the bedsitter, apartment or shop you actually let).

2

List it publicly

Publish to the marketplace when you want tenants or buyers. Or keep it private and only use the management tools.

3

Sign the lease

Add the tenant, the unit, the rent and the dates. Invoices follow the lease — you do not type them from scratch each month.

4

Collect and withdraw

Rent can land in the platform paybill or in your own. Either way you see payments, expenses, tickets and vacate notices in one place.

Inside the dashboard

What you get once it is created

This is the same console existing landlords already use — not a lighter “coming soon” version.

Properties & units

The building, then each door inside it. Vacant units are the ones you can list or lease next.

Tenants & leases

Who lives where, from when, at what rent. A lease is the source of truth for invoices and availability.

Invoices & payments

Rent invoices, M-Pesa receipts and a wallet you can withdraw from after rent has cleared.

Day-to-day running

Expenses, support tickets, vacate notices and a performance view across your units.

Billing

You are billed one of two ways

Opening the dashboard is free. You pay only once you collect rent through MyRentKenya — and only according to how you collect it.

Revenue share

Tenants pay the platform paybill. We reconcile the payment for you.

1% per successful payment

  • 99% paid to your wallet
  • No monthly fee — nothing if nobody pays
  • Best if you want collection handled end to end

Per-unit subscription

You collect on your own paybill or bank. The platform never touches the rent.

KES 100 / unit / month

  • 100% of rent stays with you
  • You still get leases, invoices, tickets and notices
  • Best if you already have a paybill

Want a personalised management system?

The dashboard above is the standard landlord console — list, lease, collect, withdraw. If you want something tailored to how you already run your property (your own paybill, a caretaker workflow, an agency setup, or a walkthrough before you go live), contact us. We will work out a personalised management system with you.

Typical things people ask us to set up

  • A property with several blocks or mixed commercial and residential units
  • An agent or caretaker who should see only some of the portfolio
  • Moving existing tenants and balances onto MyRentKenya
  • A private system you do not want on the public marketplace

Start with a normal account

Create an account or sign in first. You will come back here to open the landlord dashboard — not before you have read this.
